After joining Hibiya Kadan Co., Ltd. he introduced e-commerce, an industry pioneer, and engaged in new network business. After working in logistics outsourcing services, he founded a new company, Grid, in 2009. He developed a unique machine learning/deep learning AI development platform, which is rare in Japan. He is working to solve various social issues by transforming the social infrastructure that supports our daily lives, and is at the forefront of efforts to create further breakthroughs in AI.
After joining ITOCHU Techno-Solutions Corporation, he was engaged in business development of new products and services, and later became Vice President of ITOCHU Techno-Solutions America Inc. After returning to Japan, he has contributed to the promotion of business applications in a wide range of fields since the dawn of AI. As Director and General Manager of AI Business Division, he leads the expansion of Indsutrial AI market ahead of the rest of the world.
From a heavy electric machinery-related company, he launched various new businesses with infrastructure companies and created JV companies at Urban Design System Co. In 2009, he launched Grid as a founding member and expanded the AI business domain to a wide range of fields including smart buildings and smart cities, contributing greatly to business growth. As General Manager of the Business Development Division, he is at the forefront of the development of new areas of AI applications and AI-based decarbonization and smart city initiatives.

Worked at a steel manufacturing system integrator, where he was in charge of infrastructure environment construction. He has been leading the development of AI development platform since the launch of Grid's AI business. From 2020, he will lead Grid's technology development as CIO.

After passing the CPA exam, he joined EY Ernst & Young ShinNihon LLC, in which he was engaged in a wide range of audits of listed companies in the construction and real estate sectors, companies preparing for listing, and Japanese subsidiaries of foreign companies. In 2021, he joined GRID to support the company listing on the Growth Market in terms of financial and managerial accounting, and from 2023, to serve as CFO in charge of corporate planning, accounting, finance, and investor relations.
Graduated from the Graduate School of Systems Innovation at the University of Tokyo. Responsible for on-site safety risk management at a global oil company. Acquired statistical analysis skills while studying abroad, gaining experience in data acquisition, calculation, and interpretation. Currently, he mainly leads electric power optimization projects, leading to the social implementation of supply-demand planning optimization, which had been a monopoly of heavy electric machinery manufacturers in the industry. He is highly trusted by his team members, and as the head of the engineering department, he is also focusing on improving the technical capabilities and organization of the company as a whole.

Returned to Japan in 2009 after working as a researcher at the Max Planck Institute and the University of Cambridge. He was involved in the establishment of Grid Co., Ltd. and served as a project assistant professor and project associate professor at the University of Tokyo's Advanced Science and Technology Research Center in 2011, and an associate professor at the University of Electro-Communications before assuming his current position in April 2024. Engaged in research such as device design using AI, system optimization, and quantum control. As a pioneer in quantum AI fusion technology, he has served as a technical committee member and chairman of the examination committee of a national professional competition.

After working for McKinsey & Company and Japan Industrial Partners, he joined the Graduate School of Engineering at the University of Tokyo. After serving as assistant professor and special-appointment associate professor, he assumed his current position in 2007. His research focuses on the design and social implementation of data-driven business services, and he is currently conducting joint research projects with companies in the logistics, energy, finance, and retail distribution fields. He also serves as a national committee member and corporate advisor.

He has been a researcher at several think tanks and a specially-appointed professor at Tohoku University. He has also served on numerous government committees, including the Cabinet Office's Council for Regulatory Reform Promotion and the GX Executive Council. He has also been a long-time participant in the UN negotiations on climate change (COP) and continues to advocate for environmental and energy policies.He founded U3 Innovations LLC in 2018.
